Key is crash prevention

Important Message from the MN Motorcycle Safety Center

We still need more motorcyclists for MnDOT to complete their study of new rumble strip designs to ensure they are motorcycle friendly. They have scheduled another test session for Saturday, October 24 at their MnROAD testing facility near Monticello. The testing session lasts approximately two hours.

Rest in Peace - Kevin B. Todd (UPDATED)

It is my sad duty to inform you that we have lost a great friend, ABATE of Minnesota Assistant State Coordinator Kevin Todd. Kevin passed away unexpectedly in his sleep recently. Kevin led a life of service to his faith, country, family, friends, and freedom fighters everywhere. He will be missed by many, many people in Minnesota and across the nation. His personality was infectious. Sometimes he would tell you what you needed to hear, not what you wanted to hear and for that we are grateful. He has left a hole in many hearts that no one but him could fill.

The Importance of Motorcycle PAC of MN - From Todd Riba

Hello ABATE of Minnesota members, we are getting some great work done but we need your help. Recently I attended a fundraiser for Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, Kurt Daudt.  Also Mark Senn, Motorcycle PAC of Minnesota Treasurer, attended a fundraiser for Minnesota Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk. Both of these men are politically powerful and influential.  ABATE of MN got a lot of face time with both of them to talk about our issues. Our attendance at these fundraisers was made possible by all of you that have supported Motorcycle PAC of MN.

Increased Penalties for Reckless Driving Effective 8-1-15

There is a new law on the books that will give prosecutors the ability to charge reckless drivers who cause great bodily harm or death with a gross misdemeanor. This new law is effective August 1st, 2015. American Bikers for Awareness, Training, and, Education of Minnesota (ABATE of MN) would like to take this opportunity to encourage all road users to drive and ride in a safe and distraction free manner.

Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issues a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking

Big Victory for Street Riders in DC, but....

The street riders of this great country scored a major victory recently in the U.S. House of Representatives. The “Walberg Amendment” to the 2016 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations bill struck a provision that would have overturned the U.S. Department of Transportation lobby ban. The lobby ban prohibits the US  Department of Transportation from using taxpayer money to lobby states to pass mandatory helmet laws.
